Million Dollar Motivation

Written by Steven D. Arecco

dr_evilHow many items do you have on your goal list that you have no intention of manifesting? If you are not quite sure which ones they are, take a look at the ones that have been there the longest and yield the least progress. It really comes down to commitment and intention or a lack there of. Just wanting to achieve something is not good enough. I am very good at achieving my goals, yet as I look back over the previous years of goals some seem to carry over. If they were important enough to list time after time then why have they not been accomplished?

Choose a goal that you’ve wanted to manifest for a long time, yet have made little or no headway.
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being totally motivated and committed towards it’s obtainment, 1 being 100% avoidance of it. What is your level in regard to this goal?
What if you were offered a one million dollars, tax free, to successfully complete the goal, what would your level of motivation be then? What would you do differently? How would you act towards the people around you? Would you be happier? More enthusiastic? Friendlier? More or less persistent? Would your willingness to help others be more or less? If after doing this exercise you see a strong trend in a positive direction, then motivation is a definite factor!

It has been proven that highly functioning successful people possess certain traits. They dream big, live in the moment, decisive, persistent, posses a clear vision, rebound quickly from adversity, and clearly understand the “Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction simply says; “You attract into your life whatever you think about”. Your prevailing thoughts will always find a way to manifest in your life, both good and bad. Finding ways of keeping your thoughts and actions “on purpose” is key to the obtainment of your goals and a successful life.

Most minds are like a tremendous intersection where hundreds of roads cross without any benefit of as much as a traffic light or crossing guard. It’s that lack of control over our thoughts which directly affects our level of happiness at any given moment.

I believe it was Mother Theresa that said “Whatever you are for strengthens you, and whatever you are against weakens you”. For example; if you are against war, you will be much less effective than as if you are for peace. So be very careful how you frame your thoughts and desires in your mind.

In writing “Million Dollar Motivation”, I hope to give you one more tool in your arsenal to keep you on course and on purpose! Some might say, “It’s impossible to be happy, upbeat, positive, motivated, decisive, etc. when life is not treating me well. Give me the million dollars and those traits will naturally follow.” First of all, throwing money at something never fixes situations like this. The change always must come from within. Money is external. I do agree however that in difficult times it is challenging to function at a much higher level, yet for the people that are able to rise above it all and live their life that way, especially during adversity, the world is their oyster. It’s time to decide whether you are up to the challenge!

So in closing, that goal you listed in the first exercise, let’s think about how much different you would act if there were a million dollars waiting for you following its completion and be that person now. Then watch the law of attraction take over!

Robert Frost said it best:

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference” The first road might lead you to an average life at best, the other-to greatness!

Goal Setting 101

Written by Steven D. Arecco

Before we get started I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the following:
For all your reasons in the world to set and achieve goals, please make sure that the pursuit of happiness is not attached to any of them. What I mean is, you have the power to choose at any given moment, “to be happy or not, and to what degree”. If you tell yourself that after you achieve a particular goal, than you will be happy, you are headed for a rude awakening. If you have a spouse or children then your responsibility to get your “ducks in a row” is even more crucial …Read more

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Written by Steven D. Arecco

I am a firm believer in the sharing of knowledge and information. This article contains a culmination of years of research. It is in your best interest to take your time digesting it. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any further help. The phrase “Don’t sweat the small stuff””was made popular by author Richard Carlson; however it was Dr. Wayne Dyer that provided him with this little gem. What these two fine authors have in common is the ability to separate out the BIG STUFF (BIG PROBLEMS) from the small stuff (small problems). Their shared belief is that it is ALL SMALL STUFF! …Read more

30 tips to get the most out of The Landmark Forum and The Advanced Course

Written by Steven D. Arecco

Before I begin with my helpful hints, I’d like to tell you a bit about my experience with Landmark’s Forum & Advanced Courses. I took mine in 2014-2015 in NYC. I absolutely loved both courses. I went in with low expectations and a bit cynical and came out with way more insight into why I do & don’t do certain things. I was also taught how to chart a new course in order to live a happier, more abundant life! I was so impressed with both courses that I had my 8 year old daughter take “The Forum for Children”! I will post a full review in another article …Read more
